Street Begging is Not Islamic

If there is one thing that is anti Islamic, it is the Almajiri method of begging, which should be discouraged by all Muslims. This is coming from Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III. He said the Islamic religion is against slothfulness and joblessness but encourages work, entrepreneurship and giving of scholarship to indigent student.

Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto wants all Muslim to speak against street begging which is now becoming a norm in Islam. He said this on Sunday in a preparatory Ramadan gathering of Jema’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) which he is also the President- General. The Sultan said road begging has no origin in Islam and wants all Muslim to engage themselves in meaningful work rather than becoming nuisance in the street.
