Arrest Obasanjo And Prove Seriousness Of Anti-graft War, Orji Kalu Tells Buhari

Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has called for the arrest and prosecution of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, suggesting that this move will prove President Muhammadu Buhari is serious about the anti-graft war and has the guts to see the fight through.

Orji Kalu, who is a known supporter of President Buhari, challenged the President to take the bold step as failure to do so means he has not yet started fighting corruption.
Naming Chief Obasanjo’s crime, Orji Kalu explained that Chief Obasanjo made away with $16 billion fund earmarked to revamp the power sector under his regime.
The challenge was thrown by Orji Kalu at the quarterly public lecture series of National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO, with the theme: ‘Culture, Economy and Good Governance: The Nigerian Experience’ held in Abuja.
Though Orji Kalu admitted President ‘has some guts’, he declared himself a better candidate to fight corruption, backing his claim up by referring to his time as Abia State Governor.
“My prosecution is political. Our accounts in Abia state were transparent under my watch. The U.S. knows, the UK knows. I have been given a red carpet in these two countries. I have been given a red carpet in China. In fact, I am stronger to fight corruption than President Buhari because he is not fighting it well.
