                                                    Collapsed Building In Abuja
The collapse of the shopping complex has lead to the loss of a life and the search and rescue operators are at the scene trying hard to rescue those still trapped in the wreckage....

The collapse of the storey shopping complex at Utako, which happened at about 1pm on Friday was described by the eye witnesses to be in a progressive failure mode, instead of crumbling down all at once.

Director General of Director General of the Nigerian Builders Road Research Institute, who was among the First Government officials to arrive the scene said the building was constructed with substandard Materials.

After the intervention by the search and rescue operators, one person has been confirmed dead and six other persons rescued with over twenty people still trapped in the wreckage.

The acting president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who was accompanied to the scene by the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, and the secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha expressed his condolensce for relatives of those who might have dies and those injured and as well expressed optimism that those who were still trapped under the wreckage would be rescued.
